"God designed you with talents, gifts, and interests that He wants used for His glory. You are custom-made. There's nobody like you in the whole world. And the gifts, the abilities, the talents, even the interests you have, they were genetically encoded into you by God. You didn't have a say in what you were going to be interested in, what you are naturally good at. God made you with a specific mission in mind and He wants you to use the gifts He's given you in your work."

I've been struggling a lot with the decision of how much to be involved in SMU stuff once school reopens. I mean, after going for SMUx camp and all, I feel like I really wanna enjoy my time in SMU with the million and one stuff they have lined up for the students. But there's still church, tutoring, and the massive amount of school work which will charge towards me soon. Most importantly, it's church. After the three weeks of no church, I'm feeling more attached to the church than ever and I really want to devote quality time interacting with the Riverlife community and get to know more people and impact more lives. So I was thinking okay maybe cut back on CCA or don't join a CCA at all! But I feel so sad because what's Amanda Lim without a CCA!!! But when I read this above paragraph, I felt superbly comforted! I finally understood that I can join all the activities I want as long as I keep my eyes focused on God and never forget my ultimate mission on earth. Okay, obviously I'm not gonna join everything that comes my way but let's just say I join one CCA, I meet a bunch of people, and it's one more bunch to impact! And it's comforting to know that God gave me interests for me to further His glory. I always feel like doing sports in place of other stuff is a super guilty thing to do cos it's for my own fun, joy and laughter but NO!!! I feel like slapping myself right now cos that's such childish thinking. Thank God for this revelation. It was really timely and helpful (:

Just came back from SMUx camp which was awesome to the maximum!!!! In fact, the word awesome is not even good enough to describe my entire experience during the last 3D2N!!! The best was my group which we called X-Men. (HAHAHA, HOW LAME AND CHILDISH.) Ohmygosh you don't know how much my group rocks please!!! Especially after the second night of HTHT-ing, everyone suddenly seemed so bonded which made day three the most awesome day ever! I'm loving SMU!!!
